11-11 Wishes Come True Soiree

Dear Friends, & Family,

 

I am excited and honored to announce what I hope will be an annual event, the "11-11 Wishes Come True Soiree"! As this year has the date of 11-11-11, I wanted to do something special for the occasion since 11 has always been my favorite & lucky number. A friend suggested a party themed on making wishes, because many people such as myself make a nightly wish at 11:11 PM. Suddenly it dawned on me, instead of a party why not devote my efforts to hosting a memorable, classy, local event aimed at raising money for a child with a life-threatening medical condition in our area. I've always had a passion for helping those with life-threatening medical conditions and have volunteered with Hospice, an organization dear to my heart for over ten years. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is another phenomenal organization I've always been interested in and am excited to raise money for!

 

Since 1980 when a boy named Chris wished to be a police officer, the Make-A-Wish Foundation^®has granted the wishes of more than 240,000 children - one wish every 40 minutes. Children like Justin, who wished to be a race car driver, are living their fondest wish because of the compassion and generosity of people like you. When Justin's wish got rolling, he roared to a local racetrack escorted by a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, a Maserati and a BMW. When he arrived, he hopped into an F1 kart to race his family and friends. After his trip to the Winner's Circle, he enjoyed a post-race party complete with all his favorite racing video games.

 

The "11-11 Wishes Come True Soiree" will be held in Monroe, CT at Roberto's on the evening of 11-11-11. Already, kind people and businesses have offered to donate their services, money, and time!I am still accepting donations for the silent auctionevent,and day of event volunteers. If you can't commit to be there on 11-11 please use this page to donate to our event total. Tickets are on sale,so please contact me should you want to purchase a ticket, or if you know a potential vendor.

 

Tickets are $55 per a person and include appetizers & desserts from local restaurants, dinner from Roberto's, wine from Barefoot Wine, music, dancing, and the silent auction!

Vendors and sponsors will recieve invaluable local advertising in our event program, the night of the event, and in the press. Our goal is to have no expenses and give Make-A-Wish 100% of what we earn from this event.

 

Each year the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut grants the wishes of more than 150 kids with life-threatening medical conditions. Our goal is to raise $8,500 which is the average cost of a Wish. Together we can bring joy to a child with a life-threatening medical condition, and make a child's wish come true!
