Run Rob Run
Welcome to our event page. This event was started with the same purpose as all Make-A-Wish events, to raise money and grant wishes! It is our hopes to make this a very special event that will hopefully raise enough money to grant lots of wishes.
Run Rob Run is a new event where Rob Faugno, a student of Syracuse University and President of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, plans to run 54 miles to the chapter house of their Cornell brothers. Rob has founded this event in honor of his sister Bartolina Faugno. Bartolina was born with epilepsy and a brain tumor on her brain stem. The first time that Rob came in contact with Make-A-Wish was when his sister became a Wish Kid. Since the day Rob experienced how great of an organization Make-A-Wish is he has been motivated to do his part to help raise money for more Wish Kids.
Bartolina is now 17 years old and after numerous trials of different medications and surgeries she can happily say that she has conquered every challenge she has faced. Next year she plans on attending Lesley University in Boston, a feat few thought she would ever accomplish. On April 11th Bartolina will turn 18 and Rob plans to run this rigorous 54-mile race in her honor of how far she has come. This run embodies the heart, determination, and spirit that all Wish Kids and their families must have to make it to the finish line of their races. Like many of these kids Rob was told he would have a long, hard road to face but as Bartolina has taught him heart and determination can carry you through anything.
We urge anyone who hears about this event to donate any amount they can because even the smallest donations can help grant some of these amazing kids’ wishes. Please donate and spread the word about Run Rob Run so that more people can be motivated by Bartolina’s story and know that they to can overcome any obstacle no matter how hard it may seem!
