Run Rob Run
Welcome to our event page. This event was started with the same purpose as all Make-A-Wish events, to raise money and grant wishes! It is our hopes to make this a very special event that will hopefully raise enough money to grant lots of wishes.
Last year Rob Faugno and his brothers of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity created an event called Run Rob Run, to raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Central New York. Rob ran 54 miles from his chapter house in Syracuse to the chapter house of their Cornell brothers. This event was founded in honor of his sister Bartolina Faugno. Bartolina was born with epilepsy and a brain tumor on her brain stem and was offered a wish from the organization. Seeing how amazing Make-a-Wish was first hand inspired Rob to do everything he could to help raise money and awareness. Run Rob Run broke records raising over $30,000 dollars.
The brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha are determined to have even more success in the second year of this event. This year, Run Rob Run will take on a new form. Rob and his Fraternity brothers will be running in the Syracuse University quad for 24 straight hours. During the 24 hours Pi Kappa Alpha and the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Central New York will be collecting donations and raising awareness for the organization.
Running for 24 straight hours is meant to symbolize the heart, determination, and spirit that all Wish Kids and their families must have to make it to the finish line of their races. But as Bartolina has taught her brother: heart and determination can carry you through anything.
We will be picking up where we left off last year on our event page with $30,054 dollars raised. Our goal last year was $50,000 dollars and we are determined to reach it this time. Bringing our total to $70,000 dollars. This money will help grant wishes for children all around Central New York. We urge everyone to donate anything they can so we can help make these children’s wishes a reality. Please help spread the word so more people can be motivated by Rob and Bartolina’s incredible story.
Details on the time and date of the run will be posted in the coming days.
